World Tea Expo
The World Tea Expo is a yearly event, which is the largest tea trade show in the world. This years expo kicked off on April 3, 2006 in Las Vegas, NV. The 2006 expo brought record attendance far surpassing anything World Tea Expo founder and president, George Jage, ever anticipated.
This year’s event featured a full program of educational seminars and events for attendees, highlighted by stunning performances of Japanese and Chinese tea ceremonies. The expo this year also featured the nation’s first ever tea auction. Attendees were able to buy 5-10 kilogram lots of one-of-a-kind premium teas, consisting of a selection of 42 different teas from 14 different Nilgiri estates.
Rounding out the list of events was the Third Annual Iced Tea Shake Off competition. All entrants were judged by a panel of tea experts and were entertaining and full of theatrics.
Mark your calendars because the 2007 World Tea Expo takes place June 9-11 in Atlanta, Ga at the Georgia World Congress Center.
