The Forbes List - Coffee Wins Again

Forbes magazine recently released their annual list of the 400 Richest Americans and coffee is still king. Starbucks founder Howard Schultz earned himself a cozy space at #354 on Forbes??? list with a net worth of $1.1 billion. No wonder ??? serving up 40 million caffeinated drinks a week will do that to a person.

And the rich keep getting richer as Starbucks Corporation announced Thursday that it is going to raise the prices of its lattes, cappuccinos, drip coffee and other drinks by 5 cents, an average of 1.9%. The increase will start hitting consumers??? wallets on October 3rd and while coffee-drinkers might complain, it???s the first time that the java giant has increased their drink prices in the last two years.

As if their 8,624 US stores aren???t enough, there???s an expected 30,000 slated to open. I think it???s safe to say that Howard Schultz’ future is bright.
