Starbucks, Not Slowing Down Anytime Soon

Can we say slow down? Starbucks just keeps growing and growing, with no end in sight. At the company’s recent analyst meeting Martin Coles, president of Starbucks Coffee International, announced that the company has plans to open its first stores in Russia, and Brazil, along with a store on the continent of African. They are also talking over a joint-venture to open shops in India. Starbucks plans to be in Cairo, Egypt and Sao Paulo, Brazil by the end of 2006. Plans to enter Russia are projected for late 2007. According to Starbucks, “Russia has one of the largest and fastest-developing economies in Europe. This growth, combined with Russia’s market size, growing coffee consumption and affinity for Western brands make it a key opportunity.”

As if we ever had any doubts, Starbucks proves that coffee really is big business. For the complete store visit www.marketwatch.com.

I have heard such a lot about Starbucks but never having been to the US I have never tasted a single cup. What I have done, however is to have exported many containers of South African wines to Great Wines International in Los Angeles -

Have a look at their website and perhaps you will be able to enjoy them too.

Great that Starbucks is coming to Africa.

Great, thanks for the link. This company may be something our Wine Sediments writers would love to hear about.

Hope when Starbucks makes its way to Africa you’ll get a chance to try them out.
