Pass The Cheer
It’s time for eggnog lattes and peppermint mochas again. Starbucks is already in the holday spirit. This year Starbucks is sending out Cheer Passes, hoping to inspire folks to spread good will by committing random acts of kindness.
Starbucks President and CEO Jim Donald has teamed up with a select group of its employees to pass out 8,000 cheer passes aka, “acts of cheer”. The cheer passes will be in the form of free subway MetroCards, Starbucks gift cards and bags of the coffee giants Christmas Blend coffee, as well as copies of The New York Times.
Don’t live in New York? No worries, throughout this holiday season Starbucks plans to hand out 10,500 Cheer Passes per day, which is about 500,000 total. The campaign will be running in 9,000 stores in Canada and the U.S. In addition, Cheer Passes can be emailed or downloaded from ItsRedAgain.com.
I have to admit, thinking about Christmas before the Thanksgiving turkey is even carved is a bit premature for me. But I did some reading and checked out the website and this seems like a great campaign. You can also go to CheerPass.com for additional information about the campaign and find out what sort of random acts of kindness people have been receiving so far.
