A Cool Tool For Hot Tea - The Teastick
Let it be known, I am a gadget lover. It doesn’t matter if we’re talking electronic or epicurean, I get excited about them. Often I find that when purchasing a new gadget, once the new wears off it gets tossed in the drawer and hardly ever used again. So I’ve slowed down on the impulse buys and now pass up most gadgets the first go ’round. I figure if it sticks in my mind long enough that I come back for a second look maybe the gadget really is something I’ll use and love.
The Teastick is one such gadget. The Teastick has been featured in magazines, such as Bon Appetit, and I have to admit, if you’re a hot tea drinker you really gotta have one of these. You can easily scoop out, measure and strain your loose leaves into the perfect cuppa tea. I’ve always heard that loose leaf is the way to go when making tea, but it can be a bit of a pain - you have to worry with measuring out the right amount, and straining the leaves. Dropping a tea bag or two into the hot water is just so much easier, especially if you’re only making a single cup for yourself. But with the Teastick you have the elegance and superior quality of loose leaf tea with the ease of tea bags. You better believe I’ll get my money’s worth out of this gadget. And if you’re one of my tea-drinking loved ones, you just might get one of your very own this holiday season.
Speaking of…
I’m finding lots of cool gadgets during my hunt for the perfect gifts this holiday season, so stay tuned to see what I come up with next!

This does look really cool but I have a question. I have a similar gadget that I thought I’d love but it turns out not to be so. I find with the one I have that there isn’t enough room for the tea to properly expand (and I’m not overfilling it).
It’s hard to tell from the photo but how much tea can this hold and do you feel it has enough room? Do the tea leaves get proper exposure to the water?
Thanks!
