I know it depends a bit on personal taste, but the Teastick seems to have ample room to scoop the tea in and allow it to expand properly while steeping. The instructions tell you to swirl the Teastick around while it steeps to allow all the bits of dry leaves to unfurl and get exposed to the water. Brenda, good question. I have a similar gadget that I thought I'd love but it turns out not to be so. I find with the one I have that there isn't enough room for the tea to properly expand (and I'm not overfilling it).
