Tea Party Art

I love the idea of a tea party. But I have two different images that I conjure up in my head. One is the playful tea party of a child with her dolls. And the other is a very formal tea party with a bunch of women in fancy clothes. I have never actually been to an official tea party and I did not have a tea set when I was a child. But I am drawn to romanticism of it all.

Consequently I am drawn to art and stories about tea parties. Lately I have fallen in love with the prints from The Black Apple, especially the ones that remind me of tea parties. Emily Martin from The Black Apple includes tea as a subject of her art because, like me, she is drawn to the concept of tea parties and imaginary fun it conveys. This artist is a big fan of tea and the comforts it brings her (Bigelow’s Constant Comment is her favorite tea of all time).

Emily’s tea-themed artworks (along with other interesting pieces) are available at The Black Apple ETSY shop. Prices start at only $13.00 for an 8×10 print.

This is very interesting…I have not seen Emily Martin’s artwork before and didn’t know her favorite was Bigelow’s Constant Comment!

Thanks for sharing this.
