Go Light on Frozen Concoctions

A Mocha Frappuccino from Starbucks sure tastes good, even more so when you add the whipped cream and chocolate syrup drizzle.  It’s a perfect way to cool down on a hot day.  Unfortunately, if you’re not careful, the sugar, fat and calories in these drinks can catch up to you, and fast.  Are they all about the same?  Definitely not.  You can still definitely indulge, but some are better choices than others.  See how your favorites stack up:

Caribou Coffee Mint Oreo Cooler (small), 620 calories, 26 grams of fat, plus it has more saturated fat than many fast-food double cheeseburgers (ouch!)

Starbucks White Chocolate Frappuccino blended creme with whipped creme (grande), 610 calories, 19 grams of fat and contains a whopping 420 mg of sodium

Dunkin Donuts Vanilla Bean Coolatta, 440 calories, 17 grams of fat and contains almost a full day’s worth of saturated fat and 17 teaspoons of sugar

Jamba Juice Berry Fulfilling, 260 calories, 1 gram of fat and is jam-packed with antioxidants, contains 45% of your daily calcium and 80% of your daily Vitamin C (nice!)

Dunkin Donuts Coffee Coolatta with Skim Milk, 170 calories, 0 grams of fat and contains 15% of your daily calcium

Starbucks Iced Vanilla Latte with nonfat milk (grande), 160 calories, 0 grams of fat and contains 8 grams of protein and 20% of your daily calcium
