Superior Deer’s Antler Brand Coffee Mixture

Back in January, I was having a bad run of it with my coffee makers. Here’s a look back:

Coffee… Sweet Coffee… I’ve missed you. It’s been too long since I’ve been able to enjoy your dark smoothness! But, really, it’s my own fault.

Let’s recap…

*Stove-Top Espresso Maker (from my brother- and sister-in-law): gone (began to disintegrate… or molt… I’m not sure which… might have been because I put it in the dishwasher even though it said ‘hand wash’)

*Machine Espresso Maker (wedding gift): I dropped the little glass pot on the tile floor

*Drip Coffee Maker: Broke on its own (I had nothing to do with that one, thank you very much!)

*French Press: Poured boiling water on my hand causing me to drop the press into the sink where it shattered.

Hmmm… maybe I shouldn’t be allowed to touch coffee makers.

Since I haven’t had a cup of coffee in days, I woke up today jonesin’ for my cuppa joe. I originally thought that meant I had to go up the street to the local bakery/bar/grill (yes, it’s all one place) and order some, but then Drew remembered a gift that had been given to us ages and ages ago: Malaysian coffee. Carter & Sheac Yee know our obsession with coffee, so they picked some up last time they were there visiting her parents.

But here’s the funny part about this coffee… it doesn’t require any sort of machine or press… only a sock. And it’s not just coffee… it’s a coffee MIXTURE. Part coffee, part sugar, part… margerine? Yes, with an E, not an A. I don’t even know what it is. Anyway, once it’s brewed, you stir in condensed cream. Well, this involved pouring hot water from a pot again, so I passed that duty on to Drew.

Yum! Superior Deer’s Antler Brand Coffee Mixture…very shimmery!

And some more… and then some more…
Pour it in!Add some more...and more...
And voila! You have Malaysian Coffee!
And Drink.

In all honestly, it was really good…and not just because I was needing a fix and would drink anything that looked even remotely like coffee… that’s what I use my General Foods International for (while looking at their website, I just realized they don’t even use the word coffee in the title… huh). But, yeah, the coffee was good. It reminded me of the Thai coffee we get while out to eat sometimes. Very Strong & Very Sweet. So maybe this can hold me over till we get a new French Press that I will try to not break. I make no promises, though.
