The Power of Pomegranate… and Tea
The box of Pom Wonderful Teas arrived just in time for the long Fourth of July weekend (and Denver’s first heat wave). Now bottled in an ecologically-friendly and portable plastic bottle, the all-natural iced teas offer a delicate balance between tea flavors and fruit juice. Black, red, green, and white teas are all represented, with pomegranate and other juices, such as orange and blackberry, complementing the various teas.
Since we both watch our carbohydrate intake, we were most interested in the “Light” flavors (Wildberry White Tea, Orange Blossom Red Tea, and Hibiscus Green Tea), which did not disappoint in their fruit juice flavoring when compared to the regular flavors of Pomegranate, Peach Passion White Tea, Blackberry, and Lychee Green Tea. With half the calories of the regular Pom Teas, the light teas provide an exciting and refreshing alternative for those of us looking for a bottled iced tea product without all the sugar. The Light Orange Blossom Red Tea and the Lychee Green Tea were especially noteworthy, as they tasted smooth yet full of sweet fruit and mellow tea flavor.
Just as with their regular pomegranate juice products, Pom Wonderful adds PomX to their teas. PomX is a concentrated blend of antioxidants, patented by Pom itself.
Pom teas are available at most large grocery stores throughout the United States and Canada.

if you wanna talk pomegranate and tea, try brewing your own. its less wasteful and less expensive… the two i like most are yogi’s green tea with pomegranate and organic india’s tulsi pomegranate (tulsi has an added benefit of lowering cortisol levels and it tastes delicious). if you can’t find it locally, you can get it online at shopOrganic dot com.
