Mighty Leaf’s Chocolate Truffle Tea Collection
These teas first caught my attention while browsing the aisles of the New York Fancy Food show several years ago. I had the privilege of tasting a few of them while speaking with Mighty Leaf owner, Gary Shinner. His excitement over the blends infused the air nearly as much as the incredible scent of these teas.
My favorites are those with a black tea base: Mocha Pu-erh Truffle, Chocolate Orange Truffle and Pear Caramel Truffle. Each of these offer an incredibly different flavor. The Mocha Pu-erh is my favorite. The pu-erh foundation provides for a wonderful full flavor to compliment the mocha. The combination is akin to a rich, dark chocolate truffle. Chocolate Orange Truffle reminds me of my favorite French sweets, dark chocolate enrobed orange peels. This tea has a profound chocolate flavor with a citrus sweetness undertone. The Pear Caramel truffle is a fruity and sweet variation on chocolate.
The remaining teas in this collection are herbal variations, perfect for those who limit their caffeine intake or prefer to drink tea at night. They include Mayan Chocolate truffle, Masala Chocolate truffle and Chocolate Mint Truffle.
